\ 2022 \ Destiny 2: Lightfall Branding
A custom logotype of built-from-scratch characters was ultimately expanded to include the entire latin alphabet. The below characters were subtlety altered from mark to mark to best fit their relative context.
After locking Lightfall’s English logo, I also built out localized logos for each of Destiny 2’s supported languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Chinese Simplified, and Chinese Traditional.
To ensure consistency and that the strikethrough motif was maintained across each localization, loc’d wordmarks were built using the same shape language.
Wordmarks are all one of two heights, ensuring various key art templates would only need to account for two variations. You’re welcome, production designers. <3
Unlike past key art, where the edition name was placed on a banner at the top of the frame, we opted to tie the “Annual Pass” name directly into the logo lockup. Using a gradient color field bar ensures the logo mimics the key art’s palette and helps the logo and art sit better together.
