Computer Chronicles was an half-hour PBS television series broadcast between 1984 to 2002 which documented the rise of personal computing from its infancy to the behemoth it became at the turn of the century. The show’s host, Stewart Cheifet, optimistically and inquisitively covered a rapidly-changing tech landscape, the emergence of the World Wide Web, attended tech shows, interviewed developers, and all else in between.

It now serves as an incredible time capsule of an optimistic era of tech that has unfortunately given way to our current landscape of surveillance, data-farming, and enshitification. So, escape the present and spend some time in the era of translucent plastic, goofy gadgets, and the actively forming World Wide Web.
